About Gledholt
Our fellowship has a real family feel. We have a membership of around 70 and a regular congregation that spans an age range from 0 to 90+. There is a growing proportion in the younger age groups and we have a significant core of young adults aged 18 to 30. We also have a number of families with young children and a small group of younger teens. Our building has modern and flexible facilities for worship and other activities, and is occasionally used for residential youth weekends.
The church is situated in an urban area of West Yorkshire, close to Huddersfield town centre, with excellent public transport links to Leeds and Manchester. The church has good relationships with other churches within the Methodist circuit as well as with neighbouring churches of different denominations. We are actively involved in Churches Together in Huddersfield, and we are regularly involved with Alpha. Many church members are involved in youth activities including weekends away and an annual Camp.
We describe our mission as 'gathering, growing, going for the glory of God': we gather for worship, prayer and fellowship; we grow through prayer, teaching, worship, Bible study and service; we go out into the community and wider world to serve and witness for the glory of God.
Our Sunday services are based around a Methodist format but we use creative and interactive worship styles as well as the more traditional, and we try to get a balance of music styles each week. We have a small worship band that leads the music. Many of our members are involved in weekly house groups
Visitors can be sure of a warm welcome, with an opportunity to chat over tea and coffee at the end of the service.

Prayer
A different topic is chosen each month as a prayer focus.
Count your blessings, not your crosses;
Count your gains instead of
losses.
Count your joys instead of woes;
Count your friends instead
of foes.
Count your smiles instead of tears;
Count your courage, not
your fears.
Count full years instead lean;
Count kind deeds instead
of mean.
Count your health instead of wealth;
Love your neighbour as
yourself.
